SAKHIR, Bahrain (AP) — Mick Schumacher celebrated his impending transfer into Formulation One by clinching the F2 title on Sunday.

He’s the son of F1 nice Michael Schumacher, who received seven F1 titles and 91 races in a glittering profession.

The 21-year-old German driver sounded emotional moments after crossing the road on the season-ending race in Bahrain.

“I’ve no phrases,” he mentioned. “Really superb.”

After climbing out of the PREMA Racing automotive, he knelt down by it for a number of seconds together with his hand over his eyes.

Then he hugged members of his staff and Sabine Kehm, his agent and a detailed household buddy.

“I really feel overwhelmed,” he mentioned after the race. “It should take a couple of days perhaps (to sink in).”

His first race in F1 might be with the U.S.-owned Haas staff subsequent 12 months.
